would like to inform you that, in Odessa, from 24 to 28 June successfully passed the event "Vienna days in Odessa". One of the important part of this event it was the performance of your play "Odessa" showed in the Russian drama theatre on June 25. In the hall for 700 people were near 600 people. They were mostly young people, students of the German language. It was visible, as with great interest they perceived a beautiful dramaturgy.
On the next day after the performance to the actor Gerhard Dorfer came a young employee of the hotel where he lived and said that she have seen the performance "Odessa". which made her and her friends a great impression. She noted, about beautiful German language, an excellent dramaturgy and nice game of actors. For Odessa this performance was exotic and became an important event in the theatrical and cultural life of the city.
On the performance were attended the heads of Departments of Cultural and International Affairs of the Vienna city Administration. They really liked the performance. The head of Department of International Affairs sad that in the play "Odessa" the authors described the situation very close, which was with his father. Only in his case was love between the vienna girl and a british soldier.
Next day after the play I had a meeting with an official people from Austria:
Dr. Wolf Dietrich Heimm - Abassador of Austria in Ukraine,
Dr. Martin Eichtinger - Abassador, Director General for Cultural Policy of Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs,
Jakub Forst-Battaglia - Minister, Special Coordinator for South Eastern Europe and Black See Region-Directorate General for Cultural Policy of Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
I told all of them about our with You long time cooperation, about the plans to show your Play "Odessa" in Kiew, St.Petersburg, Moskow and Irkutsk.They told that in our case there is the best example for West - East cultural cooperetion, and that Mr. Uli Bree as a writer in this case is as ambassador of Austrian culture in Ukraine and Russia. They promised to give a help and support for our cooperation. In autumn I will have a meeting with all of them to continue our dialogue.
As to St. Petersburg, yesterday I got the answer from the Theatre in St. Petersburg concerning of possibility to show the play "Odessa" on a stage of the theatre "Osobnjak". They can give a stage for the play in 24th and 25th September.
If you will have a possibility to came to St. Petersburg in this time it will be realy perfectly!! Belive me it will be an unforgettable time!
